CAPT Incubator Program

CAPT operates an Incubator program whereby member clients can bring their own equipment to CAPT and lease CAPT space on a monthly square foot basis. This often provides the ideal arrangement for companies in a start up mode.

There are currently 2 companies incubating at CAPT:

• Advanced Thin Films. Advanced Thin Films specializes in custom optics and thin film deposition services for your most demanding applications. ATFilms’ expert staff offers full support of your optical needs from concept, to design and development, to production.
• Lightstream Photonics. Lightstream Photonics works on LED Packaging Technology that channels heat away via state-of-the-art Micro Heat Pipes (MHP's) that perform far more efficiently, and in a much more compact space, than conventional heat-sink technology.

CAPT is conveniently located in Longmont which is close to Boulder and Denver, and easily accessible from interstate I-25 ( see map).

As a non-profit organization, the CAPT Center provides cutting-edge technical services and human resources to its corporate and educational partners. The CAPT Center is the only photonics resource in Colorado that can deliver: surface roughness measurements, optical testing , contract measurement services, prototyping, precision metrology, environmental testing, use of photonics equipment and facilities, training for current employees, and connections with future employees.

The CAPT Center will provide access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment:

• $5 million in equipment for pilot line processing, packaging, measuring, inspection and environmental test.
  
• 2,000 sq. ft. of support laboratories
  
• Design, processing, characterization, packaging and quality labs
