Short Course Program Objectives
The CAPT center provides programs to
train and re-train workers in skills needed by Colorado's photonics
industry. The CAPT Short Course
Program is based on the following concepts:
- Bring
nationally-renowned instructors to teach courses
in Colorado at the CAPT facilities;
- Present a customized
short course series to meet the unique training
needs of the Colorado photonics industry;
- Offer an appropriate
"hands-on" portion as a part of many of
the courses to reinforce the material taught in
the classroom; and
- Provide
equipment-specific courses to train interested
users on equipment available in the CAPT
laboratories.
Instructors
We select instructors
who are recognized experts in the specific technology
area.
Course Topics
The topics of the
short courses are chosen to reflect the training needs of
the photonics industry in Colorado as determined by
direct input from members of the local photonics
community. We encourage you to contact us with
suggestions for future courses!

The CAPT Short Course

expertise. The courses offered at CAPT would be
appropriate for different people such as:
- Optical engineers and
technicians wishing to gain specialized skills or
